Key Responsibilities
Inspirational Pedagogy: Plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge students and align with the UK National Curriculum and external assessment standards (IGCSE, A Level, BTEC).
Individualized Learning: Differentiate instruction to ensure every student—regardless of their starting point—is stretched, supported, and makes outstanding progress.
Targeted Assessment: Regularly evaluate in-class and home learning, providing high-quality feedback that drives student achievement and potential.
Environment Building: Foster a classroom culture where students feel valued, take intellectual risks, and are invested in the collective success of their peers.
Professional Collaboration: Actively participate in the BSB learning community by sharing best practices, collaborating on curriculum development, and engaging in continuous professional growth.
Holistic Contribution: Lead co-curricular clubs and whole-school initiatives, contributing to the well-rounded development of the 2,900 students on roll.
Parental Partnership: Maintain open, constructive communication with parents to ensure each child is recognized as an individual and well-supported at home.
Requirements
Education: A university degree in Business, Economics, or a closely related field, plus a PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience: Minimum of two years post-qualification teaching experience.
Subject Expertise: Proven experience teaching Business and Economics across Key Stages 3–5 (Ages 11–18). Experience with the British curriculum (GCSE/A Level) and BTEC Level 3 is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: High level of confidence in integrating ICT and digital tools into the classroom experience.
Vetting: Must possess an enhanced disclosure from the DBS (or international equivalent) and a steadfast commitment to child safeguarding.
Mindset: An open-minded, lifelong learner with high aspirations for students and a demonstrable passion for the subject matter.
