Key Responsibilities
Workplace Inspections: Conduct periodic checks of all areas to ensure workers are protected from risks and that pollution prevention controls are active.
Accident Investigation: Analyze workplace injuries or accidents, register them, and write detailed reports to ensure they never happen again.
HSE Statistics: Maintain accurate records and statistics of injuries and serious accidents for both company requirements and government authorities.
PPE Selection: Evaluate and choose the specific type of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for different job tasks.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Safety Officer.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, Engineering course, or Diploma course.
Technical Knowledge: * Strong understanding of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety—now often replaced by ISO 45001).
Clear understanding of Risk Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) concepts.
Required Training: Must have completed awareness courses in ISO/OHSAS standards and Risk Assessment.
