Key Responsibilities
Office Management: Maintain the RR’s complex calendar, organize high-level meetings, take minutes, and prepare briefing materials for missions and discussions.
Communication & Protocol: Screen calls and correspondence; advise senior officials on national protocols (Bahraini MOFA) and UN procedures; manage the flow of confidential information.
Liaison & Coordination: Act as the focal point between the RR’s office, UN agencies, national authorities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and international stakeholders.
Operational Support: Facilitate visas and residency permits for UN staff and coordinate mission schedules and representation events.
Knowledge & Digital Media: Assist in updating the Country Office website and social media; design content in line with corporate guidelines; and generate analysis on online engagement.
Outreach: Support the implementation of the office’s communication action plan and maintain a photo/information database for advocacy use.
Requirements
Education: Secondary Education (High School) with secretarial training is required. A University Degree (Social Sciences, Business, etc.) is highly considered but not mandatory.
Experience: * 6 years with a High School diploma OR 3 years with a Bachelor’s degree.
Experience must be in progressively responsible secretarial, administrative, or communication roles.
Language: Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
Technical Skills: * Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
Desired: Experience with web-based management systems (Quantum/Oracle Cloud, SharePoint) and UNDP/UN policies.
Competencies: High level of integrity/confidentiality, ability to work under pressure, cultural sensitivity, and strong event planning skills.
Eligibility: Open to Bahraini Nationals and non-Bahrainis with a valid work/residency permit.
