Key Responsibilities
Resource Allocation: Plan and assign aircraft parking stands, boarding gates, check-in counters, and baggage carousels using specialized management systems.
Real-Time Adjustments: Modify resource plans instantly based on flight delays, technical issues, or emergency operational requirements throughout the day.
Flight Data Management: Process and validate flight data in the AODB (Airport Operational Database) and report any discrepancies for correction.
Operational Coordination: Work closely with the APOC Shift Leader and communicate resource changes to airlines, ground handlers, and Air Traffic Control (ATC).
Crisis & Event Management: Handle resource planning for VIP flights, sporting events, and adverse weather; activate emergency call-out systems and the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) when needed.
Monitoring & Logging: Record all surface movements (touch-down, on-block/off-block times, towing) and maintain a detailed daily log of all activities and issues.
Administrative Coverage: Approve short-term flight schedules during holidays or outside normal working hours on behalf of the Flight Schedule Officer.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or a similar field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of direct work experience in airport operations.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of national and international civil aviation standards (ICAO/IATA) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience using Airport Resource Management Systems.
Soft Skills: Training in problem-solving techniques and excellent customer service skills for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.
